I (Jess) often feel like if I'm not traveling often enough, I start to get a little stir crazy. My walls cave in, I feel restless, and I can't creatively give my job my ALL. When Jason and I both start to feel this way, we usually get out of town. Sometimes it's up north, sometimes to the beach, a staycation- WHATEVER. We just need space to rest, breath and not be surrounded by our every day norm.
This time we decided very last minute to surprise our kids with a trip to Legoland! We have been talking about taking them with Spring Break around the corner, we threw caution to the wind and made it happen. We got up early, surprised the kids as we were getting in the car and made the trek to San Diego!
We were in Legoland for two days and in California total of 2.5 days so it was a fast trip for sure. But it recharged our souls a bit, gave us some really good quality family time and some awesome memories were made. (click the photos for a short slideshow!)
And while we weren't rewarded or compensated in any way for this post, we do want to say thanks to Legoland for the fun times and to Hyatt House in Carlsbad where we stayed. We originally planned to stay at the Legoland Hotel, but they were booked solid. The Hyatt House's customer service was fantastic and it was an awesome place to stay. They even mailed our son back his two lovies that he accidentally left there and would have been devastated to lose! If you need a spot, it's a good one!
Make sure you make a plan to get out of your every day norm with your family. It might be a quick trip, you might not even leave town officially. Do something that refreshes you. For us, that's traveling and seeing new things and places with our kids as much as possible.
We can't wait for our summer adventures coming up! We'll be announcing dates and cities soon!
