I never take for granted that places like these are where my office resides on many, many afternoons. Outdoors in the fresh air, hiking, climbing in nature, watching hundreds of sunsets go down. It will always remain a mystery to me why God has allowed us to do the work that we do, but we are so grateful.
It hasn't come easy either, let me tell you. We've spend thousands of hours behind our computers at home. We've worked countless 15+ hour days on our feet shooting weddings. We've had to balance our relationship, our kids, our families, our ministry AND juggle our work. It's been a lot at times. But it's never been lost on us that God has given us so much more than we ever could have dreamed when we started this business. And he HAS made a way for us to balance it all. He's brought amazing client after amazing client our way, time and time again- some of which have become some of our very best of friends! So while this job is hard work, demanding at times, and we only get days off if we schedule them, we are forever amazed that we are about to begin our SEVENTH year together doing this.
So with that, I (Jess) want to encourage you a little bit. If there are things in your life that you want to do that seem impossible- GOOD. The impossible can only happen when we truly believe that it IS possible. If you have dreams that you want to achieve, don't let go of them. It might take longer than you want, it might be harder work than you ever imagined, it might mean sacrificing certain things now to get there. Whatever they are, do it. Don't give up on the things that seem like they might be hard. Don't give up just because everyone else thinks that you don't got it (we had a few people in our lives tell us that at the beginning!), don't give in just because it looks like the road is too long. Dive in with both feet, believe in what you feel like you were created and put on this earth to do, and go for it.
And encourage everyone else along the way too.
Life is too short to let these things that are inscribed on your heart to pass you by. Life is too exciting to let the boring creep in. I always say, if it seems impossible, go for it. You never know what might come from actually believing this, staying open to all possibilities, and working hard.
There's my two cents for the week. We'll be back later with more about our kids, I'm sure. ;)
Have a good week y'all. Be encouraged for even YOU can do amazing things!
